During the struggle for national liberation against French colonial rule, Huyen cave served as a secret operational site for the Party, organizations of the Viet Minh Front, and the Rescue Army Team II. During the resistance war against the United States, the 28th Thai Nguyen Steel Brigade and the military renovated and constructed several areas within the cave to house machinery and equipment for weapons production.
In 2009, Huyen cave was recognized as a provincial-level historical and scenic site by the People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen province. With its limestone mountain system, mystical caves full of secrets, clear streams, and fresh air, Huyen cave is a potential and captivating tourist destination.
