According to the Circular, the number of inpatient treatment days is equal to the day of discharge minus (-) the day of admission plus (+) 1: applied to the following cases:

- Inpatients who die or have worsening symptoms during inpatient treatment and their families request to return home or transfer to another medical examination and treatment facility;

- Patients who have been treated through the emergency phase but still need to continue inpatient treatment are transferred to another medical examination and treatment facility;

Number of inpatient days is equal to the discharge date minus (-) the admission date: applicable to the remaining cases.

In case the patient is admitted and discharged on the same day (or admitted the day before, discharged the day after) with a treatment time of more than 04 hours but less than 24 hours, it is counted as 01 day of treatment. In case the patient is admitted to the emergency department, not through the examination department, with an emergency or treatment time of 04 hours or less (including cases of discharge, admission or transfer, death), the medical examination fee, medicine fee, medical equipment and technical services will be paid, but the emergency resuscitation bed day will not be paid.

In case the patient is admitted and discharged with a treatment time of 04 hours or less, the medical examination fee, medicine fee, medical equipment and technical services that the patient has used will be paid, but the inpatient bed day will not be counted.

In case the patient is transferred to 2 departments on the same day, each department will only be counted as 1/2 day. In case the patient is transferred to 3 or more departments on the same day, the service price for a hospital bed day that day will be calculated by averaging the hospital bed day price at the department with the treatment time of over 4 hours with the highest hospital bed day price and the department with the treatment time of over 4 hours with the lowest hospital bed day price.
