Goods export activities in August 2023 showed positive signs when growing by 2.9% compared to the previous month and reaching over 2.7 billion USD

( SEMV) launched new generation smartphone products, the export value of mobile phones in August 2023 increased by 7.6% compared to the previous month. Along with that, some product groups had an increase in export value compared to the previous month such as tablet computers increased by 4.2%; electronic components increased nearly 1%; Garment products increased by 2.8%... which is the main driving force for the prosperity of import and export activities in the area."

Thanks to the implementation of many synchronous solutions, deployed from central to local levels to support manufacturing enterprises and promote trade promotion, export activities in August 2023 have shown positive signs, reaching higher than the same period in 2022: Garment products reached more than 42 million USD, an increase of 4.1%; smartphones reached over 510 million USD, an increase of 13.4%; tablet computers reached over 400 million USD, an increase of 117.3%... In the first 8 months of 2023, the total export value of goods in the province reached over 18 billion USD, of which, the domestic economic sector reached over 479 million USD, an increase of 2.5%. The economic sector with foreign investment (FDI) reached nearly 18 billion USD (accounting for 97.4% of the total export value in the area). Accounting for the largest value proportion (nearly 91%) in the province's export value of goods in 8 months is the group of phones, tablets and other electronics reaching nearly 17 billion USD; The group of photovoltaic cells and solar modules reached nearly 750 million USD (accounting for 4.1%), an increase of 65.17%; Garment products reached more than 340 million USD (accounting for 1.9%), an increase of 4.1%...

Mr. Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex, informed: "From the beginning of the year until now, overcoming many difficulties, by the end of August 2023, the total revenue of Samsung Group in Thai Nguyen reached over 17 .6 billion USD; export value reached nearly 17 billion USD; Import value reached over 8.7 billion USD; contributed over 2,800 billion VND (equivalent to 122 million USD) to the State budget.

Representative of the private economic sector, Mr. Nguyen Van Thoi, Chairman of the Provincial Business Association, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TNG Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company shared: "Bright spot in the province's export of goods in August is the export growth in both the domestic economic sector and the FDI sector (up from 2.5-2.9% compared to the previous month). In particular, in the cumulative 8 months, while the domestic economic sector's export of goods increased by 2.5%, the FDI sector decreased by 18.3% over the same period. This shows the efforts of domestic businesses, but also shows the difficulties of businesses in general, including the FDI sector, which has more stable markets and supply chains."

Mr. Nguyen Van Thoi added that, for TNG, the business has actively expanded export markets; Investing and applying modern technology to production. The Company's total revenue for the first 8 months of 2023 will reach nearly 4,840 billion VND (of which 98% is export revenue), equal to nearly 71% of the year's plan.

According to leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment, in the third quarter, export activities in the area have shown some good signs, however, the completion of the export growth target as planned at the beginning of the year is very difficult.
