Planning work has a very important position and role, likened to "the engineer paving the way". With the goal of striving by 2030, Thai Nguyen province will become one of the modern industrial economic centers of the Hanoi Capital region, associated with sustainable development, having a great influence and impact on industrial development in the entire Northern Midlands and Mountains region, the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has focused on creating fiscal space for industrial development.

Specifically, the Plan has expanded 11 industrial parks and 1 concentrated information technology park with an area of ​​1,599 hectares. The industrial parks are planned to prioritize attracting investment projects to develop key industrial sectors and products using advanced technology, high-tech products, deep processing, information technology, electronics and telecommunications, environmentally friendly production, energy saving, industries using renewable energy sources, etc.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Pho Yen City: Immediately after the General Plan of the province was approved, Pho Yen City actively coordinated with specialized agencies to carry out the tasks of establishing, collecting opinions from people, adjusting and submitting to competent authorities for approval of detailed plans according to regulations. Thereby creating a legal corridor for the locality to implement the next steps in attracting investment.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh, Vice Chairman of Hong Tien Ward People's Committee (Pho Yen City), said: As a locality with Yen Binh 2 Industrial Park planning, in the past time, the local Party Committee and government have coordinated to organize the posting, public announcement and solicit public opinions on the planning project; received and reported to competent authorities to adjust the planning according to regulations.

Sharing from the investor's perspective, Mr. Ahn Hui Sun, Deputy Director of Han Viet Aluminum Joint Stock Company (Diem Thuy Industrial Park), said: Most of the industrial parks expanded according to the new planning period of Thai Nguyen are concentrated in the southern region of the province. This will contribute to exploiting the advantages of urban infrastructure, increasingly complete and synchronous regional traffic in localities such as Pho Yen, Phu Binh, as well as creating attractiveness for investors and businesses operating here.

In parallel with the task of establishing and approving detailed planning for industrial parks, the province also implements investment steps for industrial parks that have approved detailed planning. For example, the 1/2000 scale construction planning of Song Cong II Industrial Park, Phase 2, after completion in 2022, in March 2024, the province selected investors to implement the project to invest in construction and business of infrastructure.

Mr. Le Kim Phuc, Head of the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, said: According to the plan, this is a concentrated industrial park, in which priority is given to the industries of electronics, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, support, new materials, clean energy, renewable energy, smart energy, processing, manufacturing... with a population of nearly 14,000 people and a labor force of about 54,000 people.

From the practical experience in the above planning work, experts believe that the industrial development potential of Thai Nguyen is still very large. This is an advantage for Thai Nguyen to take a shortcut in attracting investment, as well as creating more expectations to increase the value of industrial production in the whole province to over 2 million billion VND, thereby contributing to realizing the goal of becoming one of the modern and smart industrial economic centers of the Northern Midlands and Mountains and the Hanoi Capital region.
