SUCCESSFULLT OPERATING THE LARGEST FERRO SILICON FURNACE IN VIETNAM
After a long period of stagnation by the COVID-19 epidemic, Thai Nguyen Metallurgical Electromechanical Joint Stock Company has carried out a comprehensive restructuring, investing in a new technology line of the largest Ferro Silicon smelter in Vietnam. On December 2, the company launched the first batch of Ferro Silicon in Thai Nguyen.
Ferro silicon is made from quartz (or silica), steel flakes and semi-coke (coal), by melting in a Ferro furnace. Although it is an important material in the steel industry, at present this product is mainly imported from abroad, the price is unstable and difficult to buy.
From that fact, Thai Nguyen Metallurgical Electromechanical Joint Stock Company has invested over 115 billion VND to build the first Ferro Silicon Processing Factory in Thai Nguyen. With a design capacity of 12,000 tons per year, this will be the factory with the largest output and the most modern production line in Vietnam today, meeting the requirements of the domestic metallurgy industry and export.
