From 2021 to present, the province has reviewed and established concentrated production areas to orient the development of key crops.

Intending to restructure production by sector, the province focuses on developing the fields of agriculture, fishery and forestry. Along with that, localities in the province have promoted aquaculture in irrigation reservoirs (ensuring safety and environmental protection); encouraged investment in increasing intensive farming areas for family ponds with fish breeds of high productivity and economic value; developed concentrated intensive aquaculture areas for enterprises, cooperatives, and cooperative groups.

Mr. Le Dac Vinh, Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries, said: “Aquaculture activities have had many changes, many areas have been converted to intensive and semi-intensive farming with high economic value (in the past 9 months, the estimated aquaculture output reached 11.8 thousand tons). It is estimated that in 2024, the value of aquaculture production will reach nearly 250 billion VND.”

Mr. Vu Duc Hao, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that the restructuring of agriculture is proving effective when aiming to increase added value and sustainable development.

With many efforts, the structure of the province's agricultural sector has shifted towards greater efficiency, shifting growth based on increasing quantity to quality and added value; increasing industries and products with advantages in production and consumption markets. In particular, focusing on developing key national product groups, key products of the province and advantageous products, local specialties; maintaining and developing concentrated and specialized production areas for key agricultural products. Thanks to that, the income and life of rural people have gradually improved, promoting the construction of new rural areas and socio-economic development in the locality. The current internal economic structure has had a positive shift when agriculture accounts for 94.2% (cultivation 46.1%, livestock 47.4%, agricultural services 6.5%); forestry 3.2% and aquaculture 2.6%.
