Recognition of Luc Giap Temple Festival on the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List

On June 23, Pho Yen City People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognizing Luc Giap Temple Festival, Dac Son ward as part of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Luc Giap Temple Festival is held on the 15th of the third lunar month every year, to commemorate the merits of famous people: Duong Tu Minh, Luu Nhan Chu, Do Can. The ceremony has typical activities related to spiritual beliefs such as: Sacrificing to gods, spirit mediumship, offering incense, procession... The festival recreates folk games such as: Traditional objects, singing for love, pulling fighting, cockfighting... In 1993, Luc Giap temple was ranked as a national historical relic.

On April 1, 2024, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a decision to bring Luc Giap Temple Festival, Dac Son ward, Pho Yen City is on the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, thus preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of this festival.
