Ms. Le Thi Thu Ha, Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Hy district, informed: We proactively advise the district People's Committee, coordinate with relevant departments, units and communes and towns to develop plans and effectively implement ethnic programs and policies for each year and each period; receive and effectively use the State's support policies and resources; properly, fully and promptly implement social assistance policies.

The Department also coordinates with sectors and localities to propagate to each hamlet and household, thereby encouraging people to promote production, develop the economy, and escape poverty. Poverty reduction policies such as: Vocational training, job referrals, housing support, health insurance cards, and support for study costs... are promptly resolved.

Ms. Ly Thi Sinh's family used to be a poor household in Lan Quan - a particularly difficult hamlet of Tan Long commune with over 90% of Mong people. In 2023, her family escaped poverty thanks to financial support for house construction and production development. Ms. Sinh said: The family's previous 50m2 house was dilapidated, and we were worried that it would collapse every time it rained heavily or had strong winds. The State supported nearly 50 million VND and the Dong Hy District Social Policy Bank lent 50 million VND, we built a new solid house, and my husband felt secure going to work as a worker in Phu Binh district.

The family of Ms. Ly Thi Du, a Nung ethnic group in Van Khanh hamlet, Van Lang commune, has enjoyed ethnic policies such as: support of nearly 50 million VND for house construction, water tanks to ensure environmental hygiene and 1 breeding cow. Ms. Du shared: Thanks to the attention of all levels and sectors, the family has a safe house, we will try to raise livestock and work well to avoid falling back into poverty. In addition to implementing programs to support house building, trees and breeding animals to develop production, Dong Hy district also focuses on vocational training and job creation for poor and near-poor ethnic minority workers. After learning a trade, workers are introduced to jobs or are able to create their own jobs to have a stable income and improve their lives.

From 2022 to present, Dong Hy District People's Committee has coordinated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to organize 2 job fairs, connecting 36 business units to consult and recruit nearly 2,000 ethnic minority workers to receive labor market information, job counseling and career orientation.

The district also organized 17 vocational training classes for over 500 rural workers, at the end of the training class, 100% of students were granted vocational certificates and 80% of students had jobs...

The effective integration of national target programs combined with job creation has helped farmers, including ethnic minorities in Dong Hy district, have the conditions to escape poverty and develop the economy.
