Participating in this model, children under 24 months old, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers receive maternal and newborn care at home from medical staff (3 times within 42 days after giving birth). Mothers regularly have the opportunity to access information about maternal care before, during, after birth and child care.

This model is part of Project 7 - Taking care of people's health, improving the health and stature of ethnic minorities; Child malnutrition prevention is part of the Government's National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030.

In Thai Nguyen, phase I will be implemented from 2021 to 2025; 2024 is the second year that Thai Nguyen implements this project.
