At the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh informed the delegation about ethnic work in the province in the past time. Accordingly, Thai Nguyen province has 50 ethnic minorities with a population of over 384,000 people (accounting for 29.56% of the province's population), including ethnic groups such as Tay, Nung, Dao, San Chay, Mong... Ethnic minorities in the province live mainly in 5 mountainous and highland districts.

In recent years, the Party and State of Vietnam have paid attention to directing the implementation of many programs and projects; the province effectively implemented the National Target Program for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the area. The Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee expressed hope that this visit will further strengthen the exchange and cooperation relationship between Thai Nguyen province and Chinese localities and units, opening up opportunities for both sides to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, especially ethnic affairs.
