Learning about the reality at Tan Duc market (Phu Binh), we were very surprised when we were asked to transfer money when buying corn and vegetables. Seeing my surprise, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen, a vegetable vendor at Tan Duc market, excitedly said: Now many people go to the market without having to worry about carrying money, sometimes they accidentally lose it. As long as you have money in your account, you can order on online sales channels or buy directly. Similar to Tan Duc market, the 4.0 market model has been present in all localities in the province. Tan Duc is one of 7 markets implementing the 4.0 market model since the beginning of 2023. Currently, over 90% of traders in the market pay without cash.

The above results were achieved because since the end of 2022, the People's Committee of Phu Binh district has coordinated with Viettel Thai Nguyen to organize a program to launch the 4.0 market model at Uc Son market (Huong Son town). Here, Viettel Thai Nguyen and the Community Digital Technology Team have guided business owners to install the Viettel Money application, create payment accounts, create QR codes, and use cashless payments. The expansion of the 4.0 Market model - Cashless payment market in the province has brought about positive results. To date, the province has deployed it in 107 4.0 markets (reaching 100% of markets eligible for implementation). Thereby, helping people experience and access modern cashless payment methods, stimulating shopping activities, contributing to building a digital society and digital economy according to the goals of the province's digital transformation program.

One of the 15 targets set out in Resolution No. 01-NQ/TU on digital transformation is to strive for the proportion of Thai Nguyen's population with electronic payment accounts to reach over 50% by 2025. According to statistics from the Department of Information and Communications, the province currently has more than 2.2 million accounts, achieving the set target. Looking at the above results, it can be affirmed that digital transformation in general and non-cash payment activities in particular have gradually improved people's access to modern payment services, especially those in remote areas. Effectively implementing this method is the solution for every Thai Nguyen citizen to become a digital citizen, moving towards building an effective and practical digital government.
