Nearly 60% of patients do not know they have high blood pressure

At the scientific activity program with the theme "Update on diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure: Application from new recommendations" organized by the Thai Nguyen Department of Health on the afternoon of August 7, a representative of the Hanoi Stroke Association shared that nearly 60% of Vietnamese people aged 18 and over with high blood pressure do not know their condition. Meanwhile, for patients with high blood pressure, only 20% can control their condition.
According to the recommendations of experts, medical facilities in the province need to closely monitor and control blood pressure, protect the cardiovascular system of patients by combining the use of a number of appropriate drugs and must combine drugs early. Experts also provided a number of new drug treatment regimens that are evaluated to bring high treatment efficiency.
Also at the program, delegates and leading experts discussed and shared many new knowledge and practical issues in the treatment of hypertension in Thai Nguyen.
