Huong Ap pagoda – King Ly Nam De’s childhood
Huong Ap Pagoda is located in Thai Binh hamlet, Gia Nang, in the ancient Kinh Bac region (now Dinh Thanh hamlet, Co Phap village, Tien Phong commune, Pho Yen city, Thai Nguyen province). According to historical sources, Ly Nam De's name in childhood was Ly Bi, the first King of our country, who founded the country of Van Xuan 15 century ago.
Ly Bi lost his father when he was 5 years old. Then his mother passed away when he was 7 years old. Ly Bi went to live with his uncle. A great monk at Huong Ap Pagoda saw that Ly Bi had an unusual appearance, so he took him to Huong Ap pagoda to nurture and teach good things.
Huong Ap Pagoda is currently a place to worship Buddha, worship the great monk and King Ly Nam De. Experiencing many historical events, Huong Ap Pagoda still retains its ancient look and many precious items.
